RAIDS Online displays limited incident information in Google Maps' well known, intuitive mapping interface.
What information is displayed to the public?
- UCR crime category
- Crime type
- Location type (i.e. "Apartment building")
- Date of incident
- Time of incident
- Incident number
- Street address, cleaned to protect privacy (i.e. "1XX South Broadway Blvd)
- Geocoding accuracy of point
- Name of law enforcement agency that provided the crime data
Who can access RAIDS Online?
RAIDS Online is a public service that can be accessed by anyone with internet access. For first time public users, a brief statement is displayed to the user that the user must agree to before accessing RAIDS Online.
Uploading data
Law enforcement agencies can upload data from .csv, .xml, and ATAC (.atx) databases using an automated desktop upload application, or using an online upload interface for manual uploads. Data uploads can be scheduled to occur at any time, and at any interval to ensure that the most up-to-date crime information is provided to the public.
Data offsets and victim privacy
Law enforcement agencies can choose to offset data to protect the privacy of victims. A number of options can be adjusted within the control panel based on the specific needs of each law enforcement agency.
